Highlight the words that matter and reuse a note in another group. Two small changes for the notes you work with every day.

A short note can contain three different things: something to pack, something to print and someone to call. When you return to it later, the important part should be easy to spot. Lognote v6.3 adds text colors and copying notes between groups, two features that help you keep useful information visible and put it where you need it.

This guide follows the real iPhone examples shown below. It focuses on these two workflows; the [v6.3 release overview](https://lognoteapp.com/en/blog/lognote-6-3-text-colors-day-separators-obsidian) covers the other changes.

## 1. Give selected words a text color

Open a note for editing and select the words you want to emphasize. In the text-selection menu, tap the color circle and choose a color. The available choices are gray, red, orange, green, blue and purple, plus Default to restore the normal text color. Save the note when you are finished.

In the recording, the note reads “Pack charger / print checklist / call Sam”. Coloring just “print” and “checklist” makes one part stand out without turning the whole note into a colored block. The feature works on selected text; it is different from assigning a priority to the entire note.

## Keep your color system small

Start with one meaning you will remember, such as orange for something you still need to do. Keep the instruction in the text too: “print checklist” is useful even when the color is not visible. A color is visual emphasis, not an automatic reminder or a completed-task status.

If every word has a different color, it becomes harder to see what deserves attention. Mark the shortest useful passage and leave the surrounding context in the default color. You can select the same passage again and choose Default whenever the emphasis is no longer needed.

## 2. Copy a note to another group

A preparation note may be useful in both a learning group and a project group. Copying lets you keep the original in its context while adding an independent copy to the destination.

1. Touch and hold the note to open its action menu on iPhone.

1. Expand More, then choose Copy to group… as shown in the screenshot.

1. Choose the destination group.

1. Open that group and check the copied note before continuing your work.

The original stays in its group. The copy retains the note date and includes the note's available attachments. It is independent: editing it later does not update the original. This is a copy, not a live link between two groups. You can also copy several selected notes using the additional actions in the selection toolbar.

## Copy, move or start from the text?

Use Copy to group… when the same information should remain in both places. Use Move to… when you are simply correcting where a note belongs.

The nearby Note from Text action serves another purpose: it puts the existing note text into the input field so you can adapt it and save a new note. It is useful for reusing wording, but it is not the action for copying the whole note and its attachments to another group.

## A small workflow to try today

Take one preparation note you already use. Color only the instruction you need next. If the full note also belongs in a project, copy it to that group. If you only need its wording for a new entry, start with Note from Text and change the details before saving.

Keep one group as your reference if you will update the information repeatedly. Independent copies are useful snapshots, but they can diverge when you edit them separately.

## Try it with one note

Update to Lognote v6.3 and try both actions on a simple personal note first. A short entry is enough to understand the difference between highlighting text, reusing its wording and copying a complete note.
