# Capture and Organize Notes with Inbox

Use Inbox as a fast landing place and move unsorted notes into groups when you are ready.

Inbox is Lognote’s reserved capture group. Use it when speed matters or when you have not decided where a note belongs.

## Capture into Inbox

1. Open Inbox, or use the capture field at the bottom of the Groups screen.

1. Enter a note and choose Add note.

1. Switch between Today and All to focus on today’s unsorted entries or the entire Inbox.

1. Pull down in Inbox to reveal the date calendar and move between days.

## Move an Inbox note into a group

1. Touch and hold the note, or open its context menu on Mac.

1. Choose Move to group.

1. Select a private group. Active groups appear first; expand Archived groups to choose an archived private group.

> The note keeps its original timestamp. Shared groups are not offered as ordinary move targets; add content inside the shared group instead.
