# Format Note Text and Open Links

Use simple inline markers for bold text and bullets, and let Lognote recognize web links.

Lognote keeps writing lightweight. Formatting comes from a few text patterns rather than a rich-text toolbar.

## Bold text and bullet lists

1. Surround words with one asterisk on each side, for example \*Important\*, to display them in bold.

1. Start a line with a hyphen and a space, for example - Pack charger, to display it as a bullet.

1. Use line breaks to separate paragraphs or list items.

> The asterisks and hyphen remain part of the stored plain text. Lognote renders their meaning when displaying the note.

## Open a web link

1. Enter a full web address such as https://lognoteapp.com, or a recognized domain name.

1. Save the note.

1. Select the underlined link in the displayed note to open it in your default browser.

> Only open links you trust. Lognote hands the address to the system browser and does not verify the destination.
