Lognote V5: Richer Notes, Faster Capture

4 min readupdates

Lognote 5.0 Is Here: Richer Notes, Faster Capture

Lognote has always been about one thing: getting what is in your head out of your head, fast, and keeping it private. With version 5.0, we kept that speed and made your notes far more powerful. This is our biggest release yet, so let's walk through everything that is new.

Capture first, organize later

The new Inbox changes the way you start a note. Instead of deciding where something belongs before you write it, you just capture it. Text, images, files, a voice memo, whatever it is, it lands in your Inbox in seconds. Later, when you have a moment, you sort it into the right group.

The whole home screen was rebuilt around this idea, with bottom tab navigation that puts capture, your notes, and your stats one tap away.

See your habits with the new Stats tab

Notes tell a story over time, and now you can see it. The new Stats tab turns your logging into insights: trends over time, an activity heatmap that shows your most active days, and details like your most used words.

It is a simple way to notice patterns, stay consistent, and understand how you actually use Lognote.

File attachments, not just images (Pro)

This is one of the most requested features, and it is finally here. You can now attach documents, PDFs, audio, and any file directly to a note, not just images.

Everything stays stored locally on your device and syncs across your devices with Cloud Sync. Tap any attachment and it opens in its default app, so your workflow never breaks.

Voice memos with on-device transcription (Pro)

Sometimes typing is too slow. Now you can record a real voice memo inside any note and play it back anytime.

Even better, Lognote transcribes it on device, so every recording also becomes editable, searchable text. Nothing is sent to a server to be understood, which keeps your voice, and your words, private.

Built for iPad and Mac

Lognote 5.0 finally feels native on bigger screens. The layout adapts across every size, with a floating glass navigation pill, side by side charts and layouts on wide displays, and detail views that open as clean dialogs instead of bottom sheets.

Whether you capture on your iPhone and review on your iPad, or work all day on your Mac, it just fits.

Still private by design

None of this changes the core promise. Your attachments are stored locally, your voice memos are transcribed on device, and your sync is your own. Rich notes should not mean giving up your privacy, and in Lognote they never will.
