Website statistics and cookie preferences

On public website pages, we count basic page views even while the banner is open or rejected. A first-party count request sends only an approved page group. Our server directly increments a shared daily counter (UTC) for that group. These counters store no visitor identifier, IP address, IP hash, device information, referring website or query parameters; they create no individual view events or visitor profiles. Repeat views and undetected bots may be included. These counts cannot establish unique visitors or sessions. Technically necessary server and security logs are separate. Where connection data must be processed technically, we rely on our legitimate interest in minimal audience measurement (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); you may object to that processing.

Only after voluntary consent do we store a random browser identifier for up to 30 days and additionally record public page paths without query parameters, time, language, referring domain, broad device type and country where supplied by the server. Analytics records store no complete IP address or full referrer URL. The legal bases are section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Inactivity or scrolling does not provide consent. The choice itself contains no individual identifier and is saved in a necessary cookie for 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer lets you accept, reject or withdraw consent at any time for the future; withdrawal removes the browser identifier and prevents further detailed measurement. It does not retroactively delete previous measurements. Both forms of measurement run only on our own infrastructure. Basic counts are not added to consent-based page views.

Delete your Lognote account: steps and affected data

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Lognote ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Alexander Stolte, handles your information when you use our timestamped notes application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

2. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your data is:

Alexander Stolte Email: support@lognoteapp.com

For any privacy-related inquiries, please contact us at the email address above.

3. Local data and optional online features

Lognote works offline without an account. Notes, timestamps, photos, attachments, transcripts, groups and app settings are stored locally on your device.

If you enable personal Cloud Sync, the selected account data is sent to our Appwrite-based server infrastructure for synchronization. If you deliberately share a group or contribute to one, its shared content is also sent to that infrastructure and made available to the group’s authorized members. Personal sync and group sharing are separate features; a private note is not made visible to other members merely because you sign in or synchronize it.

Writing and local storage work offline without an account. Optional link previews contact linked websites; maps and other online features contact their providers when used. Data can also leave the app when you choose to sync, share, export or contact support.

If you enable location zones, Lognote processes your device location even when the app is closed or not in use to detect entry and exit and create the notes or reminders you configured. You can disable each zone at any time. If you use optional Cloud Sync, saved zones and their associated notes can be synchronized with your account.

4. Personal sync, shared groups and content safety

Personal Cloud Sync is optional and synchronizes your account data between your devices. It does not publish your private notes or photos to other users. We do not sell your synced content.

When you share a group or add content to a shared group, the group name and cover, shared notes, images and supported attachments, timestamps and author name can be processed and shown to authorized group members. Previously private content in a group also becomes shared when you choose to share that group. Members may keep copies they have already received; leaving, unsharing or blocking cannot recall those copies.

Private invitation-only groups share new content immediately after the access and format checks, without AI or manual preapproval. On our own server, the sharing path verifies membership, access and format and compares exact text or media fingerprints with previously confirmed blocks in that same group. These comparisons do not assess meaning or guarantee that all content is appropriate. They do not scan private notes, private photos or personal sync content outside sharing. No external AI provider receives shared content for review. A confirmed exact match is blocked in its group; new material without such a match is not classified as safe.

If link previews are enabled, the author’s device contacts the linked website when creating or editing their own note. The website can receive normal connection data, including the IP address. The author’s saved title, description, site name and an optional small static thumbnail can be included with the shared note. Recipients load only this saved preview from Lognote and do not contact the linked website to render it. Opening the link itself is a separate action.

Every group member can personally block another member. The block list contains your account identifier and the blocked account identifier, is linked to your account and is cached on your device for offline hiding. It hides the blocked author’s shared notes from you and suppresses new shared-note notifications from that person. It does not remove them from the group or delete their original notes; the group owner separately controls membership.

A report records your account identifier, the shared group and, where relevant, the note identifier, the reason you submit and the handling status. Authorized staff use this report to review the reported material and address abuse. Reporting does not grant a general review of your private notebook or photo library. Include only information needed to explain the report.

We process personal sync and deliberate group sharing to provide the features you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Safety checks, personal block records and report handling serve our legitimate interest in protecting group members and preventing abuse under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. App Store & Payments

Lognote is available through the Apple App Store and, for Android test releases, Google Play. Where purchases are offered, the relevant store processes payments. We do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat and our entitlement verification process subscription or purchase status, store product identifiers, transaction information and app/account identifiers to provide and restore Pro access and prevent misuse. Availability of purchases varies by platform and test version; the initial Android closed test does not offer Google Play purchases.

6. Analytics & Tracking

Lognote does not display third-party advertising and does not use advertising identifiers or cross-app advertising tracking. Technical account/session identifiers and, where enabled, purchase identifiers are processed to provide accounts, sync, sharing and Pro access. Optional online features, such as maps and link previews, send connection information and the requested resource to their providers. Crash/error reports are stored locally; if you choose to contact support or report shared content, the information you deliberately send is processed to answer or investigate that request. Basic store statistics may be provided by the relevant app store. Website statistics are explained separately above.

7. Services used

Lognote uses Apple or Google Play for distribution and purchases where offered, RevenueCat for enabled subscription management, and Appwrite-based server infrastructure for the account, personal sync and private group features you choose. Optional sign-in may involve Apple or Google. Maps, linked websites and other optional online features contact the respective provider when used. When remote push is configured, device registration tokens and account-bound routing information are processed by our infrastructure and the relevant platform push service to deliver notifications. Android push is not enabled in the initial closed-test build. Private sharing does not use AI or routine human preapproval; authorized staff investigate reported material. The privacy policies of the respective providers also apply to their processing.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data and object where applicable. Contact support@lognoteapp.com. You may also complain to a competent supervisory authority. Local notes can be exported or removed in the app. To delete your online account, open Settings → Account → Delete account, or send an account-deletion request from your account email to support@lognoteapp.com. Detailed steps, retained shared contributions and local-data limitations are explained at https://lognoteapp.com/en/account-deletion.

9. Data retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. Deleted notes move to Trash and are normally removed permanently after 30 days, unless you empty Trash earlier.

Server data is retained as needed to provide the online features you use and is removed or de-identified through the relevant deletion process. Notes in a surviving shared group may remain for its other members when you leave or delete your account; the account deletion process removes your account attribution from those retained contributions. Copies that other members already saved remain under their control.

Personal block records remain until you unblock the person or the applicable account deletion process removes them. Reports and handling records are kept only as long as needed to resolve the report, address abuse or meet a specific legal obligation; afterward they are deleted or reduced to the information still needed. Backups can retain older copies until the regular backup rotation removes them. Contact support@lognoteapp.com for a deletion request or questions about a specific record.

Confirmed group-specific content blocks store the exact text or media fingerprint and the handling details needed to prevent the same material from being shared again in that group. These records are retained only as needed for that protection, report handling or a specific legal obligation.

10. Children's Privacy

Lognote is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@lognoteapp.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our processing changes. We post revisions here with an updated date and provide additional information or request consent where required. Continued use alone does not replace consent where consent is legally required.

12. Contact
