Lognote 5.2: Built for iPad and Mac

Lognote 5.2 gives those larger screens an experience designed around them. The update introduces native iPad and Mac workspaces, Custom Filters, shared views for Favorites and Priorities, a redesigned editor and Quick Notes experience, and more useful voice memo transcripts.

It is a broad update, but the goal is simple: make Lognote feel at home wherever you open it.

A workspace built for larger screens

On iPad, Lognote now uses a native sidebar that can keep your groups and current timeline together in one workspace. Instead of moving back and forth between separate screens, you can select a group and continue working with the surrounding structure still visible.

The layout adapts as you resize it and supports the interactions you expect when using an iPad with touch, a keyboard, or a trackpad. Menus, drag and drop, and context actions make it easier to organize notes without turning the app into a desktop interface squeezed onto a tablet.

On Mac, the same thinking extends further. Native menus, context menus, dialogs, group information, and updated list behavior make everyday actions feel more consistent with macOS. The quick composer remains compact and close at hand when you want to capture something without interrupting the rest of your work.

These are not enlarged versions of the iPhone interface. Each workspace uses the available screen intentionally while keeping the same groups, notes, and familiar Lognote structure.

One place for what matters

A growing collection becomes easier to use when you can separate what matters now from everything you may need later.

Custom Filters let Premium members create focused views around the notes they want to return to. Instead of searching through one group at a time, you can bring relevant notes together in a view built for the task at hand.

Favorites and Priorities now work across groups, too. A note marked as important no longer disappears inside the group where it was created. Open the corresponding view and see those notes together, regardless of where they live.

The result is a useful layer above your existing organization. Groups still provide the structure; filters, Favorites, and Priorities give you faster routes through it.

Faster capture, wherever the thought starts

Version 5.2 also redesigns the note editor. The new layout gives the different ways to capture a note a clearer structure while keeping the composer ready for quick input.

Quick Notes have been redesigned alongside it. You can use emoji to make reusable entries easier to recognize, a clearer introduction helps when setting them up for the first time, and sorting by usage brings frequently used items closer to the top.

That makes Quick Notes useful for more than fixed templates. They can hold the small pieces of text you reach for repeatedly: a routine update, a recurring observation, or any phrase you would rather tap than type again.

Voice memos you can read

Voice capture is most helpful when speaking is easier than typing—but the recording should remain useful after the moment has passed.

Transcripts can now expand when you want to read the full text while staying compact in the timeline when you do not. Voice recognition also handles longer pauses more gracefully, giving you room to stop and think without rushing the next sentence.

The details that complete the experience

Several smaller changes help the different parts of Lognote feel more consistent.

Navigation and tabs have been refined, while updated notification settings give you clearer control over how Lognote gets your attention. The complete emoji set provided by the operating system is now available, making group and Quick Note icons feel consistent with the rest of your device.

Individually, these changes are quiet. Together, they remove small points of friction that become noticeable when you use an app every day.
