Lognote has always been about capturing thoughts without getting in your way. But the way you return to those thoughts matters just as much as the moment you write them down.

With Lognote 5.3, you can choose how your notes take shape. The update introduces three distinct note layouts, visual previews throughout Settings, a clearer Apple Watch transfer experience, and several improvements for Mac and iPad.

One timeline, three ways to read it

Some people want a compact overview. Others prefer the rhythm of a conversation or the calm structure of a journal. Lognote 5.3 gives you all three.

Classic keeps the familiar, information-dense list. It is ideal when you want to scan many notes quickly and keep dates, times, and content close together.

Note bubbles give each entry more space and a softer visual rhythm. Notes feel more conversational while retaining their formatting, attachments, and actions.

Journal creates a quieter, more editorial reading experience. Entries have room to breathe, making it especially comfortable for longer reflections and daily reviews.

Whichever layout you choose, your notes themselves do not change. You can move between views without reorganizing or recreating anything.

Dates now also remain visible as sticky day headers while you scroll. This makes longer histories easier to understand: even halfway through a busy week, you always know which day you are looking at.

Settings you can see before you choose

Small display preferences can make a large difference, but text-only settings often leave you guessing about the result.

Lognote 5.3 replaces several of those decisions with visual preview grids. You can compare the available note layouts directly, see how a theme will look, and preview date, weekday, time, and country formats before selecting them.

It is a simple change, but one that makes personalizing Lognote faster and more confident. Instead of choosing an abstract label and returning to your notes to inspect it, you can make the decision where the setting lives.

A clearer journey from Apple Watch to iPhone

Recording a thought on Apple Watch should feel dependable, even when you lower your wrist immediately afterward.

In Lognote 5.3, longer recordings can continue while your wrist is down. A new transfer queue also shows what happens after a recording is finished, so you can follow its progress from the Watch to your iPhone.

Follow every Watch recording from transfer to delivery—and retry when needed.

You can see when a recording is being transferred, confirm when it has arrived, and retry it if something interrupted the process. The queue removes the uncertainty from a step that previously happened mostly out of sight.

This is especially useful when capturing several thoughts in succession: you no longer need to wonder whether the last recording made it across.

More capable on Mac

Lognote 5.3 also makes larger collections easier to manage on macOS.

New filtering and sorting controls help narrow a busy timeline. Multi-select makes it possible to work with several notes together, while reactions and expanded context menus bring more of Lognote’s everyday actions to the desktop.

On iPad, the groups list can now collapse when you want more room for the current group. Context-menu previews have also been refined so that opening a note from its preview behaves more reliably.

Statistics now include your total number of groups and the average interval between notes, adding a little more context to the patterns already visible in your activity.

A smoother update

Alongside the visible additions, version 5.3 fixes a startup crash that could occur after upgrading from an earlier release. It is the kind of improvement you should never have to think about—but one that makes the update more dependable.
