Groups keep related notes together. A group can represent a project, person, habit, trip, or any other stream you want to review chronologically.

Create a group

  1. Open Groups and choose the plus button labeled New group.
  2. Enter a group name.
  3. Optionally choose an icon, take a photo on iPhone or iPad, or select a picture from the library.
  4. Choose Create group.
On Mac, use File > New Group, the sidebar context menu, or the add control in the group interface.
Give each recurring area a clear home.

Rename, reorder your view, or remove a group

  1. Open Group info from inside a group, or open the group context menu.
  2. Choose Rename group to change its name, or edit the group picture or icon from the header.
  3. Use Group Display in Settings to choose List, Tiles, or Table and decide which counts appear.
  4. Choose Delete group only when you also intend to delete its notes.
Deleting a group also deletes every note in it. Deleted notes move to Trash, where they remain for up to 30 days unless permanently removed.
