Copy, Share, Duplicate, Move, and Delete Notes
Use note actions to reuse content, send it elsewhere, reorganize it, or move it to Trash.
On this page
A note’s action menu collects the commands that affect the whole entry, including its media and metadata where applicable.
Open the note actions
- On iPhone or iPad, touch and hold a note. Swipe actions also expose Edit, Duplicate, and Delete.
- On Mac, right-click the note in a card, list, or table.
- Choose Copy, Share Note, Duplicate Note, Move to group, or Delete.
Understand what each action does
Copy places the note text on the clipboard. Share Note opens the system share sheet. Duplicate Note creates another entry. Move to group keeps the note but changes its private-group home. Delete sends it to Trash rather than erasing it immediately.
Recover an accidental deletion
Open Settings > Recycle bin and choose Restore before the 30-day retention window ends. Permanent deletion and Empty Trash cannot be undone.
